Joaquin James Malphurs, popularly referred to as Waka Flocka, was given the presidential lifetime award by the Trump administration. Although the former president signed the award before he left office, it was just presented to the rap artist who has taken his time to flaunt his medal on social media.

"I just want to thank President Trump for recognizing me. I wanna thank Bridget and just everyone who love me with enough love back and do everything that I've wanted to do that was generous." The BET award winner posted on his social media handle.

The award is possibly a recognition for participation in the Chicago Daughter of Destiny outreach. The program was meant to provide support to homeless women or those battling the trauma of domestic violence or negative implication of drugs.🙏🏾

The 34-year-old artist is one of the few popular names that volunteered for the outreach. His recognition was another positive gesture of Donald Trump to pop stars, having granted a presidential pardon to Kodak Black and Lil Wayne.
