Super Bowl Halftime Show Sizzling Performances (2022)
The superbowl is one of the biggest Sunday nights in America!
Although the highly anticipated football game is the primary focus of the event, the halftime show is something people absolutely do not miss.
Musical icons Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige, and Kendrick Lamar are the confirmed performers at this year's 2022 halftime show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California — the third production from the NFL's partnership with Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
A trailer for the joint performance has been released creating hype around this compelling line up. The Super Bowl performers have 44 Grammy Awards combined. Eminem leads with the most Grammys with an incredible total of 15 trophies.
After receiving the news that he will be performing, Dr Dre stated the following: The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career, it will be an unforgettable cultural moment.
Snoop Dogg shared that performing at the super bowl is a dream come true.
This year's Super Bowl will not be the first for soul superstar Mary J Blige.
She was a guest at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001 at the end of the show as she joined Aerosmith, Nsync, Britney Spears and Nelly for an interpretation of, 'Walk This Way'.
Unfortunately, the NFL does not pay Super Bowl halftime performers, however, the exposure alone is worth more than a pay check the artist could receive which is why top musical artists opt in despite the lack of pay.
The NFL does however, still covers all of the upfront costs for the production, including stagehands, set designs, and travel expenses.
Mary J Blige recently spoke about this very subject in a recent interview leading up to her Super Bowl performance this year.
According to reports, The Weeknd saw nearly every song he performed during halftime in 2021 landed on the Rolling Stone Top 100 songs chart and his 2020 album "After Hours" sales jumped from 34,200 to 57,8000 units.
Additionally, its been reported that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, who performed two years ago, experienced sales increase of over 1,000% with 16,000 digital downloads sold.
The game and the halftime show will air live on NBC so be sure to tune in and share your opinions in the comment section below.
